CESC HAPPY WITH SPAIN

The former Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas has said that he is extremely happy with his status within the Spanish national team. The 25-year-old midfielder recently completed his move to Barcelona for £ 35 million. His first season at the Catalan club may not have been a huge success, but this season they have started in the most spectacular fashion under the new manager Tito Vilanova. This has consequently lead to an improved form for Cesc Fabregas, who has been a first-team regular for the Spanish national team for a consistent basis. This has led to the Spaniard said that he is extremely happy with his contributions and value within the national team.

The Spanish national team is undoubtedly the best in the world right now after having lifted the FIFA World Cup once and the European championship trophy two times. Yet, Cesc Fabregas has said that he is still hungry for more success and cannot wait to try had the opportunity to retain the World Cup in the 2014 edition. Cesc Fabregas recently played in his 73rd international match in the 4-0 win over Belarus. Spain have had a strong start to the World Cup qualifying campaign and are one of the favourites to win the World Cup.

“I’m actually a bit annoyed [with the number of international appearances], because if I hadn’t been injured it could have been more. But I’m happy. I feel valued within the team. We are an attacking team and we know that what we have to do is play well and look for space and depth. We need to carry on doing that. We’re going well, but we know we’re playing our main rivals in the group [France] next and that they have a great team,” said Cesc Fabregas ahead of the friendly matches next week.

VILANOVA PRAISES CESC

The manager of Barcelona, Tito Vilanova, has praised Cesc Fabregas for his performance in the match against Getafe. Barcelona won the match easily by 4-1. There have been reports (by Arsenal FC news amongst others) in the last few days that Fabregas is not happy to play as substitute more often than not. He wants first team chances which he is not getting.

So, he might think about leaving the club. But, Vilanova included Fabregas in the first XI for the match against Getafe and the Spaniard proved his coach right by performing superbly throughout the match. The Argentinean superstar, Lionel Messi, didn’t start the match for Barcelona and he came to play as substitute the second half.

The Getafe defenders played well in the first half and didn’t let the Barcelona players create many opportunities. In the 32nd minute of the match, Barcelona took a lead of 1-0 with the goal of Adriano. The goal was beautifully set up by Fabregas who beat a couple of Getafe defenders with his amazing skills and gave Adriano a cross. The Brazilian international was quick to pounce on the opportunity. He smashed the ball into the right hand corner of the net. There was no more goal scored in the first half and at the half time break, the scorecard was saying 1-0 in the favour of Barcelona.

Lionel Messi came on to the park in the 60th minute of the match and the Getafe team came under pressure after Messi’s arrival on the field. Barcelona earned a penalty in the 74th minute and Messi converted it into goal with ease. He made the score 3-0 by scoring his second goal in the match in the 78th minute. That goal was set up by Martin Montoya.

Pablo Sarabia reduced the lead by scoring a goal in the 80th minute, but, that was not enough to stop Barcelona from winning the match. David Villa put the final nail in the coffin by finding the net in the 90th minute with a left footed shot. Barcelona will play its next match on 23rd of September against Granada.

CESC HAPPY CAZORLA SIGNED

The former Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas has said that he is extremely happy that his former club were able to sign the Spanish midfielder Santi Cazorla, who has joined the Premier league club for a fee believed to be in the region of around £ 17 million.

This marks a major shift in the transfer policy of Arsenal, who have been extremely wary about signing the players who are above the age of 25. The 27-year-old Spanish international, though, will strengthen the team a lot according to the former Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas, who sealed his £ 35 million move to the Spanish club last season.

Even though Cesc Fabregas is not enjoying great first season with Barcelona in terms of the number of trophies, he has said that he is extremely confident that Santi Cazorla will become a great signing for his former club, and he is looking forward to the Arsenal fixtures.

Cesc Fabregas did not manage to win a major trophy in his many seasons with Arsenal. However, he is hoping that the arrival of Santi Cazorla will be enough to change things at the Emirates stadium, which is yet to see the arrival of a new trophy. Due to the financial difficulties faced by the Spanish club Malaga, Arsenal were able to quickly seal the deal for the player.

“I’m so happy to hear that my mate Santi Cazorla is finally a gooner. Top guy, special player. A great signing! Come onnn!” said the former Arsenal midfielder on his Twitter account. The new arsenal signing Santi Cazorla has already said that he received good feedback from Cesc Fabregas regarding his new club Arsenal. Arsenal will be facing a tough fixture in the form of the home tie against Sunderland on the opening day of the season. They will be looking for nothing less than three points from this match.

SPAIN ANSWER CRITICS

Cesc Fabregas has said that the Spanish players have given a strong answer to the critics by winning the Euro Cup 2012. Spain has won this tournament for the second time consecutively. Before the start of the tournament and even during the tournament, some people were saying that the playing style of Spanish team is boring. As per Fabregas, those people, who were criticizing the playing style of the Spanish team, don’t have an idea of the technicalities of football. He said that the thing which matters the most is the result of the game and the results have been going in Spain’s favor since the last three years. The Spanish team has won three big tournaments in a row and that’s something incredible.

Fabregas said that winning the Euro Cup is a wonderful experience. The players still can’t believe what they have done. Winning both the World Cup and Euro cup is a fantastic achievement. But, at the same time, he said that the team has to carry on this winning momentum. As per Fabregas, when you win a lot of matches, you tend to be a bit complacent sometimes. But, the Spanish team shouldn’t be complacent and should keep winning matches. Fabregas is currently on a holiday. He said that the Euro Cup tournament was pretty hectic. So, the guys deserve a holiday break after the Euro Cup win.

Fabregas also took a transfer from Arsenal to Barcelona in August last year. On being asked about his new club Barcelona, Fabregas said that Barcelona is a great team. There are many great players in the Barcelona side. As per Fabregas, he is pretty happy to return back to Barcelona and rub shoulders with great players like Lionel Messi.  On being asked why he left Arsenal, Fabregas answered that he was not able to motivate the players through his captaincy. So, he decided to move. However, he said that if he leaves Barcelona in the future, he would like to play for Arsenal again.
