According to Cesc Fabregas via his official Twitter handle, Chelsea deserve their place in the Champions League.

The Blues were the better side over thetwo legs with Spanish La Liga champions Real Madrid in their last four tie. The two teams played 1-1 in the first leg in Madrid after Frenchman Karim Benzema cancelled out the opening goal from Chelsea attacker Christian Pulisic.

Chelsea sealed a Champions League final spot after the 3-1 aggregate victory over their Spanish opponents. The Blues won the second leg played at Stamford Bridge last week to secure that aggregate win. The Blues saw off Real Madrid 2-0 courtesy goals from Timo Werner and Mason Mount to book their place in the final alongside Premier League rivals Manchester City in an all-English final.

Cesc Fabregas was a Chelsea player between the summer of 2014 and the start of 2019 and he was not involved with the club in the previous two Champions League finals.

The Blues featured in the Champions League final for the first time in 2008 in an all-English affair with Manchester United. In the end, the West London giants lost on penalties after regulation time and extra time had ended 1-1.

Chelsea reached a second final in four years against Bayern Munich and it ended well with the Premier League outfit beating the Bavarian giants on penalties after they had played a 1-1 draw at the end of extra time.

The Blues will face Manchester City with the hope of becoming only the fourth English team to win the Champions League/European Cup more than once. The other teams to achieve the feat are Liverpool, Manchester United and Nottingham Forest.
