Lampard Has His Say On Liverpool Win

Chelsea hero Frank Lampard explained what he believes his former club, Liverpool do better than any other team after the 2-2 draw with Sevilla. The Blues legend heaped praise on Jurgen Klopp’s attacking football after their Champions League opening game. The former Manchester City midfielder has heaped praise on Liverpool’s attacking football while explaining what the Reds do better than any other team.

Liverpool kick-started their Champions League campaign by drawing 2-2 with Sevilla on Wednesday evening, but would have been disappointed not to have won. High up the pitch they worked hard picking off their opponents, scoring goals and drawing fouls, one of which led to a penalty being awarded but at the back they failed to impress and gifted Sevilla two goals.

Speaking about Liverpool’s attacking football on BT Sports after the game, Michael Owen said: “I thought they were brilliant for half an hour, 35 minutes in the first half. Frank Lampard seemingly agreed with the former Liverpool and Manchester United forward, adding that Liverpool do it better than anyone and that they play and move forward, they run forward and they’re all doing it and it’s so hard to defend against them. Liverpool are back in action at the weekend when they play host to Burnley in a match where Klopp will be looking for a response to their 5-0 drubbing at the hands of Manchester City last time out in the Premier League.

After his first full season in charge, people are still sceptical over Jurgen Klopp‘s high-energy Liverpool side. At their best, the gegen-pressing Merseysiders are one of the finest outfits in Europe, tearing opponents to shreds with their incisive attacking play. However, they still fail to produce on a consistent basis, with their leaky defense often hindering their pursuit of major silverware.
